Wedding FAQ's

Q. How long have you been a photographer?

A. My passion for photography first started in college at the age of 16.

During university I went on to capture my first wedding in early 2012 - oficially making 'Sophie Nicole Photography' in to a part time business. After graduating I decided to make SNP my full time job - I haven't looked back since.

In 2014 alone, I photographed 50 stunning weddings! ...I can't wait to see what 2015 brings!

Q. Do you photograph & edit all the weddings yourself?

A. Yes - I do every single part of the process myself. I do however have contacts should you, as a couple, require a second shooter on your wedding day. (Extra costs apply).

Q. Where are you based? Do you travel for weddings?

A. We're based in Kingston Upon Hull but handily, also have family in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

With this being said we can travel anywhere, whether it's Beverley or Cornwall - no matter where your big day is, we will charge the same rate throughout. This includes the 50 milage allowance set with every package. Per mile there after is just 50p.

Q. How do we go about booking?

A. If you're happy to go ahead and book straight away you're more than welcome to pay online or by cheque & I will forward all the relevant paperwork. Or if you'd like to discuss everything in a bit more detail - and see the work in person we do offer 'no obligation to book' portfolio meetings, all done in the comfort of your own home! Just get in touch to arrange one :)

Q. What deposit do you require?

A. We ask for a 25% booking fee of the overall total. This will ensure that all the items you've chosen stay at the exact same price - even if your wedding is in 3 years time!

If you'd prefer to lay down a smaller booking fee you can by paying 25% of the chosen hourly package. Remember, if this option is chosen albums, USB's etc are all subject to change.

The deposit can be paid via cash, cheque, bank transfer or PayPal (transaction fees apply)

Q. Do we pay the final balance before or after our wedding day?

A. We would suggest paying for all your items in full at the final meeting, (held 4 weeks prior to your day) This means we can then get your albums etc to you as soon as possible. However, as long as you've paid in full for our time - you're more than welcome to pay for the extras after your wedding day if you prefer!

Q. What is your cancellation policy / Terms & Conditions?

A. Upon securing your wedding photography a contract will be signed outlining that at no given stage will your booking fee be refunded upon cancellation. Any additional payments will be refunded as outlined in the T&C's.

Should we have to cancel (which we won't!) you will recieve every penny back; booking fee included.

Q. Do you have insurance?

A. Yes! Fully insured and fully registered as a business!

Q. How long will it take for us to get our photographs back?

A. Within 1 week of your wedding we will send you a small selection of photographs from your day, following this your full set will be ready within a further 5 weeks.

Every photograph you recieve will be edited to a professional standard, we do not 'batch' process them - we do them individually meaning you get the very best from each picture.

Q. How long do you keep the photographs for?

A. We keep your photographs forever - literally. So there's no rush to buy everything at once!

Rest easy knowing no matter what, your photographs will always be safe!

Q. What is a free pre-wedding shoot? If we don't require it what happens?

A. A pre-wedding shoot is simply an hour of my time to use as you wish before your wedding. It's a great opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera but more so, to get to know eachother a little better! The more relaxed you feel around me - the more beautiful your photographs will be! Enjoy it as a couple, or bring the family along.

There's no obligation to use the shoot so don't worry if you don't think it's quite for you! With this being said, please bear in mind it is a complimentry shoot & isn't transferable to any other products or services we offer.

Q. If we buy a USB do we own the copyright?

A. No - but this doesn't mean you can't print or share the photographs as you wish! When you recieve your USB or CD you will recieve a letter of authencity stating you own the printing rights which you can then show external companies should you need to.

Q. Do you ever do competitions or discounts on your packages?

A. Yes! We do at least 3 offers a year which tend to run for 1 month at a time. Please do keep an eye on our Facebook page as any offers or promotions will be advertised on there!
